Undernet Stuff

#Class Project
The Undernet User Committee conducts a weekly class for those new to the Undernet and IRC called, appropriately enough, #Class. This project was begun to teach new users basic IRC commands and provide a condensed introduction to the Undernet and its many available resources.

#Class is held every Friday at 19:30 Eastern (Saturday at 00:30 GMT) and every Sunday at 11:30 Eastern (Sunday at 16:30 GMT) in the Undernet's #Class channel. The session lasts approximately one hour and is presided over by "Professor," the teaching bot, and several tutors, who provide answers to user's questions.

The session is moderated and invite-only, so be sure to arrive a few minutes early. To get more information on all that the #Class Project has to offer, or to request a log of a recent session, visit the #Class website or write class@undernet.org.

If you are going to be a regular Undernet user, consider registering with them. To register, click here. You register there, giving them your real e-mail address. They will confirm your registration and send you your password via e-mail.

For mIRC users: After you register with CService and receive your password, follow these instructions (this will hide your IP address when you are on IRC and log you into Undernet):

	On your mIRC main menu, select tools/options/connect/options, then select "Perform."
	You need to add 2 lines of code in the "Perform" box.
	Add these two lines of code on separate lines, i.e., one at a time. First add the following: /.msg x@channels.undernet.org login username password (substituting your own username and password). Next add the following line: //mode $me +x (and then click OK and OK again).
	Voila, you're done!
